Practice Ya Muhyi ‑ Ya Hayy
Al‑Muhyi
(the wazifa for repetition is Ya Muhyi)
The One who gives life, who is the only cause of life. Nothing that is living is outside of Al‑Muhyi. It is the divine regenerative force in us and around us. Al‑Muhyi is repeated by the angel Raphael (Israfil).
Al‑Hayy
(the wazifa for repetition is Ya Hayy)
The Living, the One who lives forever, who always exists. It is the one source of all life and the very life of everything that lives. It is the life principle that never dies, and it is inside every being. It contains the eternity of life without beginning or end, beyond time and space. It is one of the names constantly repeated by the angel Gabriel. Ibn Arabi: ‘All other divine Names (after Al‑Wahid and Al‑Ahad) can only enter reality after Allah has given Hayy, life, to the universe.’ Al‑Hayy is filled with vitality; it is the inner life of the heart.
